APC Campaign Council Holds SDP Accountable for Any INEC Office Incidents

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council in Kogi State has issued a strong statement, urging the public to hold the Social Democratic Party (SDP) accountable for any negative incidents involving the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) office in Lokoja. The Campaign Council expressed firm belief that the SDP’s recent alarm regarding an alleged planned attack on the INEC office was a smokescreen to conceal their own intentions of setting the office ablaze. They contend that the SDP aims to blame the APC for the incident, knowing they lack evidence to support their recurrent allegations about the credibility of the Kogi State Governorship Poll.

In a Sunday night statement signed by Kingsley Fanwo, the Director of Media and Publicity/Spokesperson for the Council, the APC accused the SDP of resorting to propaganda to cover up their defeat in the election. The statement called for increased security measures around INEC offices across the state and emphasized that no amount of propaganda could change the fact that the Kogi State Governorship Poll had been deemed the best in the democratic history of the state.

Despite the SDP’s claims and alleged intimidation, the APC commended the people of Kogi for participating in a credible, free, and fair election. The statement highlighted the unity displayed by Kogi voters and accused the SDP of lacking the political stature to challenge the well-rooted APC in the state.

In response to the SDP’s statement about uncovering plans to burn down the INEC office, the APC dismissed it as baseless and part of the SDP’s ongoing attempts to undermine the election results. The APC confidently stated that the SDP’s legal challenges and various tactics had consistently failed, emphasizing that the SDP was in the race to fail endlessly.
