Flight Schedules in Sierra Leone Adjusted by Aviation Authority

The Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA) has mandated the rescheduling of departing flights for airlines, as conveyed in a statement released by SLCAA management on Sunday. This decision stems from the imposition of a nationwide curfew by the government. The authority acknowledged the impact of the curfew on passengers scheduled to depart from and arrive at Freetown International Airport (FNA) on Sunday, November 26, 2023.

In light of the curfew, SLCAA urged airlines to readjust the departure schedules for affected passengers on the soonest available flights following the curfew’s expiration, emphasizing that the SLCAA airspace remains operational during this period. Despite recognizing the inconvenience caused, SLCAA stressed the importance of adhering to the curfew and complying with directives from state security forces.

The statement concluded with SLCAA assuring airlines and the broader aviation industry of its unwavering support during these challenging circumstances. This action aims to ensure the safety and compliance of air travel with the government’s regulatory measures.
