Heartbreaking 12-Year-Old Boy Found Deceased After Five Days, Allegedly Used for Money Ritual in Ogun State

Tragic Discovery: Missing 12-Year-Old Found Dead with Eyes Removed and Wrists Severed in Abeokuta

The harrowing discovery of John Soyinka, a 12-year-old reported missing days ago, has shaken Kotogbo community within Asero Estate, Abeokuta. His lifeless body was found with his eyes gouged out and wrists severed.

John’s disappearance was reported to the Obantoko Police Station in Abeokuta about a week ago. According to a local resident who wished to remain anonymous, the boy often assisted at a shop where he went missing after attempting to check on a customer involved in POS transactions.

I knew the boy well; he lived with his mother, who seemed to be managing various odd jobs. He attended school but also helped at a business center where POS transactions and barbing took place, the resident recounted. “Last week Thursday, he went to check on a customer, but he never returned.

The community’s Development Association reported the incident to the District Police Officer at Obantoko Station. However, John’s body was tragically discovered on Monday in Kotogbo community, adjacent to Olasunkanmi, where he lived. The two neighborhoods are within Asero Estate.

The shocking nature of the discovery—John’s eyes removed and wrists severed—suggests a possible ritual killing, plunging the entire community into mourning. The state police command has not issued a statement regarding this distressing development.
