Law Firm Threatens Legal Action Against Rhodes-Vivour Over Alleged N200 Million Legal Fees for Governor Sanwo-Olu

Messrs Femi Okunno & Co, a law firm accused of benefiting from a purported N200 million payment by the Lagos State Government for legal services in defense of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has issued a stern response. The firm, targeted in the accusation, has threatened legal action against Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the publisher of the claim, demanding a public withdrawal and apology via social media.

In a statement titled ‘Re: Lagos state taxpayers funding Sanwo-Olu’s legal fees and party activities – An unfounded allegation from a lazy and corrupt mind,’ Lateef Olufemi Okunnu, representing the law firm, vehemently refuted the claim, deeming it sinister and malicious. Okunnu clarified that Messrs Femi Okunno & Co had not been engaged to handle the election petition for the Lagos State Government, nor had they received any N50 million payment to defend against election petitions targeting Governor Sanwo-Olu.

The law firm challenges Rhodes-Vivour to retract the allegation promptly or face legal consequences. This development adds a layer of intensity to the unfolding narrative surrounding the alleged financial transactions involving legal fees and the Lagos State Government.
