Abia Police Issue Alert for Four Missing Children

The Abia Police Command has officially declared four siblings missing, as announced by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, in a statement released on Sunday in Umuahia. The children, identified as Chinweotiti Chimaobi (7), Nmesomachi Chimaobi (7), Testimony Chimaobi (4), and Godswill Chimaobi (2), all belonging to Chimaobi Agha and Oluchi, residents of Umuagu-Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area, were reported missing by their parents on Nov. 28 at the Ohuhu Police Divisional Headquarters.

The incident occurred on Nov. 27 when the mother escorted the children to the junction of her street, where they were to board an unfamiliar tricycle headed to Great Ambassadors College, Ukaiuga Nkwoegwu, Ohuhu. No one accompanied them, given the eldest child’s age of seven and the unknown tricycle operator. Unfortunately, the children failed to return home after school, prompting the concerned parents to report the matter.

Subsequent investigation by the police revealed that the children were absent from school on the specified date, intensifying efforts to trace their whereabouts. ASP Maureen Chinaka urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in locating the missing children and emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation. Anyone with pertinent details is encouraged to report to the nearest police station.
