Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, Declines APC Appointment

Abdul Samad Rabiu, the chairman of BUA Group, has turned down the appointment to the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s finance standing committee. The APC recently unveiled its list of standing committees, featuring Rabiu among notable figures such as the chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the minister of finance, and the Senate President. However, the BUA Group released a statement shortly afterward, revealing that Rabiu had declined the appointment.

The statement outlined two primary reasons for Rabiu’s decision. Firstly, he was not consulted by the party before his name was included in the committee, and secondly, his busy schedule would make it challenging to commit the required time. The BUA Group expressed gratitude to the APC for considering Rabiu for the role, citing it as recognition of his and the group’s dedication to economic prosperity and national development.

In light of these reasons, the statement officially informed the public that Rabiu had gracefully declined the nomination and appointment. As of now, the APC has not responded to Rabiu’s decision. The inauguration of the committees is scheduled to take place on December 6 in Abuja.
