Pasuma and Portable Dropped from Celestial Church Praise Night Amid Uproar

Celestial Church Removes Pasuma, Portable From Praise Night Lineup After Uproar

In response to public backlash, the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos State, has promptly removed Fuji singers Pasuma and Portable from an upcoming praise night event at one of its branches. The controversy erupted when a promotional flyer featuring the artists circulated on social media, leading to widespread criticism. Shepherd-in-charge, Olatosho Oshoffa, addressed the concerns on social media and, after discussions with the overseeing clergyman of the hosting parish, confirmed the removal of the contentious artists from the scheduled celebration. Oshoffa assured Celestians through an official statement on Facebook, stating, “He has promised that the said contested artists would NOT come for the Nights.” This swift action by the church’s leadership aimed to rectify the situation, demonstrating a commitment to upholding values and ensuring the event aligns with the church’s beliefs. The proactive move reflects the church’s responsiveness to discontent among members and the public regarding the artists’ inclusion in the praise night lineup.
