Rights Organizations File Lawsuit Against Netherlands Over F-35 Parts Export to Israel

Dutch groups, including Oxfam Novib, have filed a lawsuit over the export of US-owned F-35 parts stored in the Netherlands, which were then shipped to partners like Israel. The lawsuit claims that this export makes the Netherlands complicit in violations of the laws of war and the collective punishment of the civilian population of Gaza. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza reports over 15,500 deaths since October 7. The case argues that by supplying weapons parts, the Netherlands risks becoming complicit in violations of international humanitarian law. Dutch authorities, however, stated that it’s not clear if they have the power to intervene in the deliveries, which are part of a US-run operation supplying parts to F-35 partners. The verdict is expected in approximately two weeks.
