Spousal Dispute Forces Bangkok-bound Lufthansa Flight to Divert to Delhi

Marital Discord Forces Unscheduled Landing of Lufthansa Flight from Munich to Delhi

A Bangkok-bound Lufthansa flight (LH772) departing from Munich had to divert to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport due to an in-flight altercation between a husband and wife. The reason for the dispute remains unknown. The German national, described as an “unruly passenger,” was offloaded upon landing in Delhi. Lufthansa Airlines stated that the flight is ready for pushback to Bangkok after tire cooling. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is coordinating with the German Embassy regarding the passenger. Initially, the aircraft sought to land in Pakistan, but the request was denied, leading to the diversion to Delhi. The cause of the altercation is under investigation, and the husband was handed over to airport security. In a related incident in October, a male passenger on a Delhi-bound Egypt Air flight allegedly damaged seats and quarreled with co-passengers, leading to his apprehension by Delhi Police.
