Tinubu Supporters Gear Up for 2027 Elections, Engage Northern Leaders in Talks

The political enthusiasts who actively supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 election campaigns are now reaching out to northern leaders and governors in preparation for the 2027 presidential election. Operating under the umbrella of the Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ) and Yoruba Welfare Group, these supporters recently convened a meeting at a renowned military club in Kaduna.

Emphasizing Tinubu’s imperfections, the group stressed the need for unity to overcome past obstacles. The meeting centered on strengthening the relationship between the north and south in anticipation of the 2027 elections. DOJ National Coordinator, Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, highlighted the role played by the Arewa Consultative Forum and northern political leaders in Tinubu’s 2023 victory, expressing gratitude to individuals from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds who supported the cause.

Alawuje urged against divisive sentiments, emphasizing the universal truth of ethnicity while advocating for unity, love, and harmony among Nigerians. He debunked the notion that political scripts were designed to hinder certain groups from ruling the country, encouraging individuals to align genuinely with various ethnic and religious communities. Acknowledging Tinubu for leading Yoruba into national politics in 2013, 2014, and 2015, Alawuje praised the former’s role in fostering unity and national participation, attributing the birth of the Disciples of Jagaban to Tinubu’s commendable leadership.
